    Description

Final exam on Thursday, December 19 at the usual course time.

This seminar proposes to explore different aspects of evaluation.

    1. The first part will be devoted to the basic elements of docimology: description of the different objectives and methods of evaluation; analysis of contexts and biases. Through the presentation and analysis of standardized national and international protocols (PISA), we will explore the principles of competency-based evaluation and also question, more generally, the evaluation process.

    2. The second part of the seminar will be a detailed presentation of the CEFR through the understanding of (almost) consensual level calibrations in the field of language didactics. Adapted to all ages and all audiences, the range of certifications attesting to language and linguistic skills is being developed in 167 countries. Objectively measuring language profiles makes it possible to engage learners in targeted and effective training paths; however, the question of the relevance of scales should not be overlooked. Trainers and teachers will keep in mind the margin of subjectivity related to the age of the learners, their previous experience, their culture(s) of origin... and, more simply, the form and biases of the proposed tests.
