 This seminar proposes to explore different aspects of evaluation.

1. The first part will be devoted to the basic elements of docimology: description of the different objectives and modalities of assessment; analysis of contexts and biases. Through the presentation and analysis of national and international standardised protocols (PISA), we will explore the principles of assessment by competences and we will also question, in a more general way, the assessment process.

2. The second part of the seminar will be a detailed presentation of the CEFR through the understanding of (almost) consensual level calibrations in the field of language didactics. Adapted to all ages and all audiences, the range of qualifications attesting to language and language skills is developed in 167 countries. Measuring language profiles objectively makes it possible to engage learners in targeted and effective learning pathways; however, the question of the relevance of the scales should not be overlooked. Trainers and teachers should bear in mind the margin of subjectivity linked to the age of learners, their previous experience, their culture(s) of origin, etc. and, more simply, the form and bias of the tests proposed.
