Biography

Cornelia Wagner is a PhD student in life course epidemiology at the University of Fribourg. She holds a BSc in Bioresource Sciences from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, as well as a MSc in Medical Anthropology from University College London (UCL). Over the course of her studies she has developed an interest in biosocial approaches to health and illness, particularly in chronic diseases. Her current research focuses on the potential effects of life course socioeconomic conditions on healthy ageing. Specifically, she aims to assess how different socioeconomic trajectories across the life course predict the risk of frailty, multimorbidity and mortality. Her empirical approach considers the analysis of longitudinal data in multiple cohorts. Since October 2020 she supports the activities of the #PopHealthLab as a research assistant.
