    Description

In this second part of the Master’s Colloquium addressed to the students in their fourth semester (or in the semester following their MA fieldwork) we focus on how to transcribe, code and analyze the research material. We also learn about how to compose reference lists and continue discussing what makes good academic writing.

In the course students acquire basic skills in using the transcription, coding and bibliography software (F4, MAXQDA, ENDNOTE, ZOTERO). Further, they present progress in their research and discuss it with the peers and the instructor. Parallel to this, students are regularly in touch with their thesis supervisors. The supervisors offer guidance on matters pertaining to the specific topic of the theses, for example on the scope and contents of the literature review, and on the conceptual framework of the thesis.

It is expected that each student gives an update on the progress of her/his thesis twice during the semester. Additionally, to pass the Colloquium, students must regularly attend the classes, partake in the discussions and offer peer-feedback.
