    Description

    This course is meant for Master students that have a strong interest in understanding protein functionality on a biochemical level.  Contents will cover Chemical indicators, Reporters, Sensors, Fluorescently labeled substrates, Click-chemistry of transport substrates, Imaging of radiolabeled substrates and Immunolocalization of transport substrates.
    Training objectives

    The first part taking place (1st day) consists of a theoretical introduction into the methods currently used for the  of visualization of membrane transport. Most examples will be taken from the plant field, however, will be relevant for all domains. All following days  will consist of presentations of state-of-the-art research papers of the last years, which are accompanied and followed by an intense scientific discussion. This requires that ALL participants are familiar with ALL contents of the research papers.

    Final grades will be based on course participation (50%) and  a written exam (50%). The course will take place in the library of the Plant Unit (PER04, room 0.101).
