    Description

    Le cours présentera le milieu juif et païen du Nouveau Testament : l'empire romain et son organisation; les religions du monde méditerranéen et du Proche-Orient ; le judaïsme, ses différentes institutions (le temple, les sacrifices, la synagogue, la tora, la circoncision, les pratiques alimentaires) et ses divers courants (sadducéens, pharisiens, esséniens etc.).

     
    Training objectives

    Par ce cours, les étudiant-e-s apprendront à situer les textes du Nouveau Testament dans leur contexte politique, social, économique et culturel, à la croisée entre la tradition biblique (judaïsme ancien) et l'influence hellénistique. Cet ancrage historique est essentiel pour bien lire le Nouveau Testament, et ne pas en faire un support idéologique intemporel, déconnecté de toute réalité humaine.
