    Description

The practical seminar provides theoretical and practical approaches to the theory and history of ethnographic film and documentary work with audiovisual methods. The focus of the seminar is on the practical development of the production of a film: Introduction to film technology (formats, camera equipment, sound), storytelling, image design, narrative techniques, qualitative interviews and post-production (editing).

During the seminar, the students make their own film (5 - 10 min.) as a group work. The films are analyzed and discussed together. At the end of the seminar, the films will be shown to the public. In order for your ECTS points to be validated, you will have to: develop a film concept; produce a film and write a final report during the course.

To participate in the seminar you need to send a short motivationletter (mentioning your field of study and your motivation to participate in the seminar) before the start of the semester, until 17th of september to philipp@coupdoeil.ch. You will be notified by 24.09.2021 if you can participate in the seminar and your enrolment is accepted.
