Biography

Chantal Hinni is a doctoral assistant at the Department of Special Education and the director of the Regional School Service of the Institute of Special Education.

After training as a primary school teacher and as a special education teacher, she worked in a development assignment in Namibia for several years, which led to her research interest in the intersection of migration and disability. She then obtained a Master's degree in Special Education and worked at the Department of Special Education at the University of Fribourg in the Special Education department. Her dissertation on "Social Capital of Learners in Intersectional Perspectives of Migration and Disability" was supervised in a Cotutelle de thèse by Prof. Dr. Winfried Kronig (University of Fribourg) and Prof. Dr. Carmen Zurbriggen (University of Bielefeld).
