Biography

I am working in the Department of Geosciences as lectuer and am responsible or involved in multiple lectures, practicum and excursions, at bachelor and master level. My teaching focusses on the topics of general geology, regional geology, tectonics, structural geology and field mapping. 

My research focusses on the interactions between tectonics, surface processes, magmatic processes and climate during the evolution of orogenic systems or sedimentary basins such as rifts. I study these processes on the Alps, the Molasse basin, the Jura Mountains, and the East African Rift System using multiple techniques such as field surveys and mapping, numerical landscape evolution modelling, core logging, seismic data analysis, as well as cross-section balancing and forward modelling.
