More broadly, his areas of expertise include Chinese foreign policy, Sino-American, Sino-Russian, and Sino-Ukrainian relations, economic security, sanctions policy, strategic technologies, and the transformation of the international order. His recent research explores how economic interdependence and alternative financial architectures can contribute to authoritarian resilience and reshape patterns of international power, dependency, and political alignment. He currently teaches a seminar on political systems in Central and Eastern Europe, with particular emphasis on external influences, economic dependencies, and political transformation.
