Biography

Michal Frackowiak received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Lausanne in 2025, where his research examined the relational consequences of co‑present phone use in everyday interactions. His doctoral work employed a multimethodological approach, combining intensive longitudinal designs, laboratory experiments, and a critical meta‑methodological analysis of conceptualization, research designs, and measurement in digital interaction research. At the University of Fribourg, he contributes to the Click. Sleep. Repeat. project, using intensive longitudinal methods and experimental paradigms to investigate how technology and media presence influence individuals’ daily functioning, including attention, stress, sleep, and recovery processes.

Michal completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom), and later held a position as a visiting postgraduate researcher at Ghent University (Belgium). He is one of the 2026 recipients of the Forum Basiliense Junior Fellowship, which will take place in Autumn/Winter 2026.
