Biography
Dr. Niketa G. Narayan specializes in British and American literature of the eighteenth-, nineteenth-, and early twentieth-centuries. She received her PhD, entitled ‘The Ethics of Collective Knowledge Production: The Individual and Club Membership in Victorian and Early Twentieth-Century Narrative’, from the University of Cambridge in 2025. She is interested in sociality and solitude, democratization and the franchise, theories of liberalism, literature and science, law and literature, nature writing, and the novel.
Her postdoctoral project is provisionally entitled ‘Withdrawing from the Republic: Sympathy, Form, and the Ethics of Solitude in Early American Literature’. Niketa has published in Victorian Literature and Culture.
