Biography
My research focuses on processes of social change at the level of discourses and institutions. With my sociological and philosophical background, I pursue an integrated approach that constructively links theoretical and empirical approaches. Using qualitative methods - in particular sociological-political discourse analyses - I examine the media construction of change processes and the transformation of values and norms. I embed this empirical work in theoretical concepts of political sociology, in particular structuration theory, post-structuralism and psychoanalysis.
In terms of content, I am currently working on social change in questions of digitality and artificial intelligence, asylum policy and the changing role of normativity in society as such. Another field of research is the (power-) critical role of social work in times of social crisis.
