Biography
Jhonny Pincay-Nieves (1991) earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland in 2022; he was also awarded the Faculty Prize for best Ph.D. thesis in Theoretical Sciences. In 2016, he finished an MSc in Information Technology at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He has worked for Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL University) and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) as lecturer and researcher. He currently works as a data scientist at Viasuisse AG in Switzerland and as guest lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Switzerland), and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. His research interests include machine learning, smart cities and logistics, fuzzy logic, and software engineering.
