Biography

Salome Walz studied French language and literature, history and contemporary history at the Universities of Fribourg (CH) and Bordeaux (F) between 2018 and 2023. During her studies, she was also an undergraduate-assistant in the research project ‘Im Spiegel der Republik. Valerius Maximus‘ Facta et dicta memorabilia’ and an intern at the German Historical Institute in Paris. Since summer 2023, she has been a graduate assistant in the Department of Ancient History in Fribourg and is writing her doctoral thesis on the role of poetry in the elite culture of the Roman Republic. She is also interested in the history of science in antiquity.
