Biography

I am currently a member of the SNSF project directed by prof. Franz Mali, which is preparing a critical edition, French translation and commentary of the anonymous work Opus imperfectum in Matthaeum.

My research focuses on ancient monastic literature, such as the works of Eucherius of Lyon, John Cassian, and monastic rules, as well as canonical sources and patristic exegesis. I am also interested in the themes of cohabitation and religious identities in Late Antiquity.

Following the defense of my doctoral thesis in Classical Philology at the University of Vilnius in 2007, I worked as an assistant from 2007 to 2012, subsequently serving as a doctoral assistant and lecturer at the Chair of Patristics and Ancient Church History (Faculty of Theology) at the University of Fribourg from 2012 to 2018. From 2019 to 2022, I was a member of the SNSF-Eccellenza project on religious competition in Late Antiquity, directed by Assistant Professor Francesco Massa.

I divide my time between research and my family life.
