    Training objectives To satisfy the requirements of the course the student should be able to do the
    following:
    - Express mathematically N-particle states for both Bosons and Fermions.
    - Work with one- and two-body operators in second quantization.
    - Use the method of Bogoliubov to treat the phenomenon of Bose-Einstein condensation.
    - Use the method of Hartree and Fock to treat conduction electrons in a simple metal.
    - Understand the origins of collective modes, namely magnons and phonons in a crystal.
    - Follow the essential steps in the BCS theory of superconductivity.
