    Description

    Returning to one of modern literature’s key texts, Kafka’s “The Judgment”, the course offers an introduction to the most influential literary theories and methods of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is intended as an opportunity to critically reflect on our own approaches to reading and interpretation as well as, more broadly, the stakes of literary criticism, especially in a comparative perspective.

    The course readings will be made available on Moodle at the beginning of the semester in English, German and French. You will be offered the opportunity to participate in the language of your choice, but a (at least passive) working knowledge of the two other course languages is welcome.
