Asia Exchange

The University of Fribourg collaborates with Asia Exchange, a study abroad organisation that connects students with partner universities across Asia and Australia, offering a wide range of opportunities for international study experiences.

Please note

This programme is fee-paying. Application and tuition fees are set by the host university and must be covered in full by the participating students.

Through this partnership, Unifr students have the opportunity to spend an exchange semester at one of the four destinations presented below.
  • Eligibility Requirements

    To participate in an exchange programme, students must meet the following requirements:

    • Be enrolled at the University of Fribourg and have paid the required tuition fees.

    • Have successfully completed at least two semesters of study (Bachelor’s level) before the start of the exchange period and fulfil the requirements of their faculty.

    • Obtain approval from their mobility coordinator and/or academic advisor.

    • Have sufficient language proficiency, particularly in English. Please refer to the requirements of the host university. Note that some universities require official language test results (e.g. TOEFL or IELTS).

    • Meet any additional admission requirements set by the host university.

    The agreement that the University of Fribourg signed with Asia Exchange includes exchange opportunities in four locations across southeast Asia and Australia. 

    Participation is limited to the following four destinations: Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia.

    Credit Recognition

    • Please check with your host university regarding the issuance and delivery of your Transcript of Records.
    • For the recognition of credits earned during your exchange, please contact your faculty or academic department.

    We encourage all students to complete an experience report at the end of their exchange. Your feedback is a valuable source of information and advice for future exchange participants.
