Biography
Samy graduated with a Ph.D. at the University of Munich in the group of Prof. Caroline Gutjahr. During his journey, he studied the role of the phytohormones karrikin and strigolactones in root development using Lotus japonicus as a model plant in his research. Samy developed a great interest in the messenger molecules and signaling mechanisms that allow the plant to integrate information from its environment. In our lab, Samy will continue to work on his favorite topic and investigate the role of small peptide hormones in mediating drought responses.
