Biography

Marie Moulin is a graduate assistant at the European Studies Domain since October 2019. Previously, she obtained her bachelor's degree in Contemporary History and Slavistics and her master's degree in European Studies at the University of Fribourg. Her master's thesis focuses on the European Confederation, a French proposal that was maligned, notably by the FRG.

Her doctoral thesis deepens the themes addressed during the master's degree and focuses on the relations between François Mitterrand and the German Democratic Republic. She engages in a deep and exhaustive reflection on the position of the former French president towards the GDR between 1971 and 1991, and tries to grasp the implications for his relations with the FRG and his European partners.

Her main research topics are Franco-German relations, France-GDR relations, the history of the Cold War and of European integration.
