    Description

    This seminar is aimed at everyone who wants to write a bachelor's, master's, licentiate or doctoral thesis in biblical studies and especially in the Old Testament. A scientific analysis of the Bible text requires competencies that go beyond what is taught in the proseminars on exegetical methods. This includes in-depth knowledge of the syntax of the original biblical text, structuralist methods of literary analysis, use of specialist dictionaries and databases.

    On the basis of Hosea 12 we train different exegetical methods.
    Training objectives

    At the end of the seminar, an exegetical study on a selected chapter of the Bible is to be written. 

    Use exegetical methodologies critically.
    Seek and read exegetical literature.
    Apply linguistic and literary analysis methods to a Bible text.
    Practice academic reading and writing.
