Responsibles Teachers Description The Physical Chemistry TP will give the opportunity to the students to directly use instruments and tools and learn modern characterization methods currently used in physical chemistry, with a focus on those techniques used in soft matter and materials science. Most experiments will be carried out on colloidal and nanoparticulate systems, which will be characterized by means of dynamic light scattering, zeta potential, Small Angle X-Ray Scattering atomic force microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, calorimetry. Both hard and soft systems (i.e, nanoparticles and surfactants) will be investigated.
Training objectives On successful completion of the course, you will be able to:
Perform instrument-based experiments. Perform a number of strategic illustrative experiments in physical chemistry and spectroscopy.
Perform experiments and interpret results in several domains including:
- kinetics, combustion calorimetry, AFM- Raman spectroscopy- UV-VIS photoabsorption and photoemission in solutions, Scattering techniques (light and X-Ray).
By doing experiments, develop a better comprehension of the concepts of undergraduate and graduate physical chemistry courses.Softskills No Off field No BeNeFri Yes Mobility Yes UniPop No -
