This practical course has as generic objectives to allow (1) to understand the nature and the stakes of the know-how essential to work in a formal setting of helping relationship, (2) a first use of these know-how in a position as a helper, and (3) to engage in the experience of being a client in a helping relationship. It provides the following knowledge and skills: Knowledge • know how to define the psychological and counseling interview • know the characteristics of a helping relationship setting • raise awareness of ethical issues in the relationship • introduce themselves to the basic attitudes of the helping relationship and listening behaviors Know how : • Know how to formulate therapeutic responses according to the basic attitudes of the helping relationship • Knowing how to evaluate the statements of a person being cared for and his own actions as a carer – using evaluation scales. Exam : This practical course is validated by (1) a written test on the theoretical concepts, (2) the filing of a brief transcription of an interview carried out and (3) compulsory attendance at all practical sessions. |
