Admission

Authorisation conditions

The admission requirements for the Bachelor's degree programme with a Swiss or foreign upper secondary level qualification are specified on the website of the Admissions and Enrolment Office of the University of Fribourg.

Test of physical and motor skills (TPMS)

Prospective students who choose a study programme at Bachelor level in Sport and Movement Sciences (SMS) are required to complete a Test of Physical and Motor Skills (TPMS).

Passing this test is a prerequisite for admission to one of these study programmes (i.e. major programme, minor programme, BSc_SI and BA_SI).

In accordance with the cantonal ordinance [DE], the admission capacity at Bachelor level for the academic year is set at 50 new study places for all SMS study programmes. If the number of prospective students who have passed the TPMS exceeds the number of available study places, these are allocated in the order of the results achieved in the TPMS.

Procedure

The test is held once a year at the beginning of July. It takes place over two days and includes the following disciplines: athletics activities, endurance running, gymnastic activities, physical expressions, team games and water sports. The description of the examination disciplines and the assessment criteria are described in the guidelines [DE] and are available in German only.

Health status

Applicants must provide proof of their state of health and a medical certificate as soon as they have passed the entrance test, but at the latest before the start of the degree programme.
