Additional / minor subjects

The Section of Medicine offers three minors in the field of sport and movement sciences, one with 30 ECTS credits (ZF-Sport30) and two with 60 ECTS credits each (ZF-Sport60 and ZF-Sport60-BMS), as well as a 70 ECTS programme as part of the BSc for teaching at lower secondary level.

  • Minor ZF-Sport30

The minor ZF-Sport30 is aimed at students from other faculties who want to acquire a basic education in sport and movement science. However, according to federal and cantonal guidelines, the scope of the training programme is not sufficient for sport to be recognised as a teaching subject at lower or upper secondary level.

The curriculum consists of the following selectable teaching units (TU):

    • 20 ECTS as part of the scientific education, selectable from the UE in ZF-Sport60

    • 10 ECTS as part of the practical and methodological training programme

  • Minor ZF-Sport60

The minor ZF-Sport60 is aimed at students who want want to acquire in-depth training in sport and movement science or are aiming to obtain a teaching diploma for baccalaureate schools (LDM). According to federal and cantonal guidelines, sport can be recognised as a second teaching subject if students complete the additional subject ZF-Sport60 with ZF-Sport+30 at 30 ECTS. This additional programme can be chosen during the Bachelor degree course. In this case, the name of this programme is "Optional Studies", which therefore runs parallel to the Bachelor degree programme.

    The curriculum includes:

    • Compulsory units: 50 ECTS in academic subjects

    • Optional units: 10 ECTS of practical and methodological training

  • Minor ZF-Sport60-BMS

The minor ZF-Sport60-BMS is only aimed at students of biomedical sciences who wish to acquire a basic education in sport and movement sciences. This minor subsequently allows access to the Master degree in Sport and Movement Sciences, specialising in "Health and Research" without further conditions.

    The curriculum includes:

    • Compulsory units: 37 ECTS in academic subjects

    • Optional units: 23 ECTS of practical and methodological training

  • Teaching at secondary level I

The scientific and practical-methodological programme comprises 70 ECTS credits and lasts 6 semesters.

    • 29 ECTS in academic subjects

    • 38 ECTS of practical and methodological training

    • 3 ECTS in didactics of sport
