    Description

Europe is facing profound political, economic, and societal challenges. Russia’s war against Ukraine, shifting geopolitical dynamics, debates on strategic autonomy, and tensions within the European Union raise fundamental questions about the future of the European project. The lecture series “Quo Vadis Europe?” explores Europe’s current developments and transformations from an interdisciplinary perspective. Particular attention is given to questions of war and peace, security and sovereignty, European integration and the rule of law, as well as economic and social cooperation. The lectures combine contemporary analyses with historical, cultural, and religious perspectives, demonstrating how current challenges are embedded in longer-term developments.

Organized by the Centre for European Studies (ZEUS), the series brings together scholars from different disciplines at the University of Fribourg as well as international guest speakers. The lecture is open to BA and MA students and to an interested public.
