Support for researchers at every stage of the funding process: from finding opportunities to preparing strong proposals.
The Research Promotion Service (SPR) supports Unifr researchers, from postdocs to full professors, in securing funding. Funding sources include the SNSF, EU programmes, foundations, and bilateral programmes. We help researchers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the cantons of Fribourg and Valais.
We support you with all research-related matters, including funding searches, proposal review, and more.

Our mission
We help research at the University of Fribourg flourish.
The Research Promotion Service offers itself as the entry point for all aspects of research funding at the University of Fribourg.
We work hand-in-hand with all researchers at the University of Fribourg, helping them in their endeavour to acquire research funding, and dispensing information and advice on internal, national, European and international funding initiatives. We belong to the Euresearch network and as part of this mandate we not only foster researchers but also small and medium enterprises in the cantons of Fribourg and Valais when it comes to their participation in European research and innovation programmes. We also manage some internal funds.
We inform and advise the Rectorate on research-related issues and are the focal point for other services on research-related questions.
Our interactions with the research community and other interested parties are personal, unbureaucratic, structured and goal-oriented. We thrive for excellence.
