My Research Activities

The Research Information System (SIR by its name in French) provides a platform to manage and show your research activities. You can access it as a section called My Research Activities in the Research tab of MyUniFR.

Before you can start creating and modifying your "Research Activities", you need to have an updated ORCiD account. You can refer to the ORCiD section on the UniFr website or to ORCiD itself.

The SIR offers several advantages, including time-saving features such as automatic project retrieval from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and integration with ORCiD, reducing the necessity of repeated manual inputs.

You can find quick explanations for the main functions of the system below, or more detailed instructions in the Manual for “My Research Activities”.

  • Link your ORCiD account

The first step is to link your ORCiD and MyUnifr profiles, log in to the MyUnifr portal using your usual login details, go to Research > My research activities, click on "Create or connect your ORCID ID" and authorise MyUnifr access to your ORCiD record.

  • Account delegation

The SIR allows you to select and add delegates. Delegates can access and modify all the content of another person's "My Research Activities" section in the same way as they can with their own account.

To add a delegation, go to the "Configuration" tab, click on “Add a delegation”, find the person to whom you wish to delegate your account by entering their name and confirm the selection.

  • "Pushing" publications to ORCiD

MyUnifr can not only read but it can also write contents in your ORCiD. This is useful to export to ORCiD works that have previously been entered by hand in FUTURA, or those that can be found in FOLIA or UNIBOOK.

    • To 'Push' publications to ORCiD go to My research activities > Sync publications.
    • Select the publications from FUTURA, FOLIA or UNIBOOK that you wish to push to ORCiD.
    • Go to Actions > Publish to ORCiD.

    • The publications should then be visible in ORCiD under Works.
  • "Pushing" projects to ORCiD

In the same way as you push workS from MyUnifr to ORCiD, you can push projects in which you have participated as a principal or associate researcher. The system automatically retrieves your granted projects from the SNSF and, in some cases, it may also contain limited information from other funding sources, saving you valuable input time.

    • To 'Push' to ORCiD go to My research activities > My Projects.
    • Select and publish the desired projects on ORCID by going to Actions > Publish on ORCID.

    • Your projects should then be visible in your ORCiD under Funding.
  • Creating lists of publications to showcase in the directory

The SIR allows you to create lists of publications and projects to be displayed in your public profile in the UniFr directory. To create a new list:

    • Go to My research activities > My public profile > My research, publications and commitments. Select 'Add a new publication list'.
    • Choose a name for the list, select the publications you want to include in the list and how to sort them.
    • Save the changes, and check your list at the UniFr directory.
