Description	The course gives an introduction to Morse theory. The methods provided are important for the study of many problems in topology, geometry and global analysis. Topics of the course include immersions and embeddings, transversality theorems, Morse theory and its application to topology (e.g. topological robotics) and to geometry.
Training objectives	Knowledge of basic methods used in Morse theory. Familiarity with embedding and transversality theorems and the basic facts about Morse functions. A good understanding of how to apply these methods to problems in geometry and topology.
