TSARMINE (VS)

Glacier rocheux actif

Altitude: 2460-2700m  -   Massif: Alpes Valaisannes (Arolla)  -   Commune: Evolène (VS)

Le glacier rocheux de Tsarmine, notamment par le fait que son front alimente directement un chenal torrentiel en débris rocheux, est un site d’observation privilégié des transferts sédimentaires. Les mesures de déplacements du glacier rocheux ont débuté en 2004 et montrent des vitesses de plusieurs mètres par an. Ces valeurs sont nettement supérieures à celles déterminées pour les décennies précédentes sur la base de l'analyse d'anciennes photographies aériennes. Le site est intégré dans le volet «Kinematics» du réseau de monitoring PERMOS (PERmafrost MOnitoring in Switzerland).

    Vitesse (3D) du glacier rocheux, mesurée à l’aide d’une station GNSS permanente installée à quelques dizaines de mètres à l’amont de la ligne de front (station déplacée en 2016).
