Dr.

I am an expert in spaceborne and ground-based radar remote sensing applied to the geosciences. I specialize in Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (InSAR) for detecting ground deformation associated with periglacial processes (thaw subsidence, frost heave and creep), as well as for geohazard studies (slope and infrastructure deformation). My research focuses on the mapping, monitoring, and interpretation of kinematics over permafrost landforms and landslides.

Biography

I completed my Master's degree at the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment of the University of Lausanne in Switzerland (Thesis title: Monitoring and characterization of rock slope instabilities in Norway using GB-InSAR) and my PhD in the Department of Geosciences at UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, Norway (Thesis title: Ground Dynamics in the Norwegian Periglacial Environment Investigated by Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry).

I worked in the Earth Observation Group at NORCE Research AS in Tromsø, Norway (formerly Norut Northern Research Insistute AS) between 2013 and 2026. Since 2023, I have a part-time position as senior researcher at UNIFR to coordinate the work on mountain permafrost in the ESA CCI Permafrost project.
