Minor Programme (30 ECTS)

The minor programme of the Master in Communication and Society aims at Master students of other branches who would like to combine their major with knowledge in communication science and to follow current developments in the media sector. Admission requirements are the same as for students of the major programme in Communication and Society.

• Lectures
  • Lecture "Klassiker revisited: Mythen, Pionierstudien, Schlüsselwerke" (3 ECTS)
  • Lecture "Comparing Media Structures" (3 ECTS)
  • Lecture "Democracy and the Role of Media and Communication" (3 ECTS)
  • Lecture "Organisationskommunikation" or "Business Communication" (3 ECTS)
  • Lecture "Media Use and Effects" (3 ECTS)

  Total: 15 ECTS

• Seminar
  • One seminar in focus area 1, 2, 3, or 4 (3 ECTS)
  • Short or long term paper (6 resp. 9 ECTS)

  Total: 9 resp. 12 ECTS

• Electives
  • If a short term paper has been made: one or two additional seminars (without term paper) and/or Bachelor and/or Master lectures in Communication and Media Research
  • If a long term paper has been made: one additional seminar (without term paper) or Bachelor or Master lecture in Communication and Media Research
