Major Programme (120 ECTS)

The major programme in Communication and Media Research usually lasts three years and comprises the major branch courses listed below (120 ECTS) as well as a minor branch (60 ECTS). It is possible to select two small minor branches (30 ECTS each) instead of one large minor branch (60 ECTS).

• First year courses
  • Lecture "Mass communication research - introductory course" (3 ECTS)
  • Proseminar in media studies with proseminar paper (3+3 ECTS)
  • Lecture "Social research methods: introduction" (3 ECTS)
  • Lecture/exercise "Economic statistics I" incl. R workshop (4.5 ECTS)
  • Advanced seminar with term paper (3+6 ECTS)
  • Lecture "Social research methods: advanced course" (3 ECTS)
  • Exercise "Social research methods" (3 ECTS)
  • Lecture/exercise "Economic statistics II" incl. R workshop (4.5 ECTS)
