Showcase your research at Unifr in just a few clicks

As a researcher at the University of Fribourg, you may already have heard of the Research Information System, better known as SIR (after its French name). This is the place where your research activities come to life. From publications to projects, SIR lets you curate and share your academic output on your personal Unifr directory page.

But here’s the trick: it works best when you link it to your ORCID account. Fortunately, this is very easy to do.

Why link SIR to ORCID?

ORCID is the global standard for researcher identifiers. When you connect it to your Unifr profile:

  • Your publications and projects can automatically appear on your Unifr profile
  • You don’t have to enter your data twice
  • You boost your visibility, both within Unifr and internationally

Set it up in 3 minutes

Here’s how to connect your ORCID to SIR via MyUnifr. This assumes that you navigate MyUnifr in French, but the steps are similar if you view it in German.

  1. Go to my.unifr.ch and log in
  2. Navigate to Research > My research activities
  3. Click on Create or connect your ORCiD ID
  4. Log in to your ORCID account and authorize access

You are done! From here, you can choose which publications and projects are displayed in SIR.

Note that MyUnifr will sync with your ORCID every two hours. So, don’t worry if you can’t see your publications immediately. They will show up eventually.

Make your work visible

Once everything is synced, you can customize which publications appear on your Unifr directory page. Want a list grouped by year? Or only peer-reviewed articles? It’s all possible.

That’s all you need to get started! If you have any questions about this, check out the dedicated webpage with detailed documentation. And of course, you can always reach out to the SPR team.
