Biography
I completed my PhD in Linguistics at the University of Verona in cotutelle with the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. In my doctoral research, I investigated the real-time comprehension of sentential negation in Italian-speaking adults with and without developmental dyslexia using eye-tracking. Beyond my PhD, I have conducted experimental and corpus-based research on child language development, including the comprehension and production of complex structures such as double negation and relative clauses (Tagliani, 2019; Tagliani et al., 2021, 2022). I have also worked on syntactic variation in Northern Italo-Romance varieties and contributed to projects on language contact and multilingualism in the Alpine region (Tagliani & Rabanus, 2022; Tagliani & Živojinović, 2023; Kruijt, Rabanus, & Tagliani, 2023). Further, I used eye-tracking to examine semantic and phonological cue processing in bilingual adults (Tagliani et al., 2025). More recently, my research has focused on linguistic assessment and intervention tools for school-aged children with developmental dyslexia (Tagliani et al., 2025).
