The University of Fribourg has signed a new exchange agreement with Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan. The exchange programme is aimed primarily at students of Slavic Studies and East European Studies, but is also open to students from all other fields of study. Students at Bachelor’s and Master’s level now have the opportunity to study in Kazakhstan for one or two semesters and to gain experience in a new academic and cultural environment.

A limited number of exchange places are still available for the Spring Semester 2027 at non‑European partner universities of the University of Fribourg.

Remaining places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
