Technologies

Organisation of matter manifests itself in amazing patterns at different scales. Given the close relationship between energy and matter, the measurable properties of electromagnetic energy can tell us something about matter. Harnessing such technology enables researchers to extend their investigation far beyond the realm of their own, human sensory capabilities.

This page tries to link research questions to technologies. Futhermore the technology pages will list the techniques and where they are acessible.
The core facilities provide access to the x-ray cristallography (XRC), x-ray tomography (aka computer tomography CT), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Light Microscopy (LM), cell sorting (CS), mass spectrometry (MS) and Chromatography. Each technologiy allows to explore a particular aspect they can measure. Bellow we make the the connection to typical research questions in the domain of natural sciences.
