Spécialisation en neurosciences cognitives
Description
The specialisation programme in Cognitive Neuroscience focuses on the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying human behaviour. It offers teaching units providing an in-depth view of the most recent research in various fields, including social, visual and affective neuroscience, sleep and cognition, and the unique characteristics of the human brain. Through detailed courses in statistical analysis, programming and advanced neuroimaging techniques, this programme enables students to acquire the knowledge they need to conduct their own neuroscience research.
Structure
The program is composed of two modules:
Foundations in cognitive neuroscience (15 ECTS)
This module is designed to provide a solid foundation and rigorous understanding of the fundamental concepts and methodologies in cognitive neuroscience. It covers a wide range of topics from social, visual and affective neuroscience to the interaction between sleep and cognition. The module also includes detailed courses in statistical analysis and programming, as well as practical introductions to various neuroimaging techniques. These teaching units are specifically designed to provide students with the methodological knowledge and analytical skills needed to conduct neuroscience research.
The module consists of a compulsory teaching unit, ‘Statistics with R’, and 3 ECTS elective teaching units. It is strongly recommended that ‘Statistics with R’ be taken during the first year of the Master's programme. To validate this module, students must validate teaching units for a minimum of 15 ECTS. The teaching units are offered in English.
Advanced studies in cognitive neuroscience (15 ECTS)
This module provides an in-depth knowledge of specialist areas of cognitive neuroscience and their applications. It includes advanced teaching units on neuroimaging techniques and data analysis. In addition, the module covers a range of specific topics enabling students to develop a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of cognitive neuroscience.
The module is made up of 3 ECTS elective teaching units. To validate this module, students must validate teaching units for a minimum of 15 ECTS. The teaching units are offered in English.
