Spécialisation en neurosciences cliniques
Description
The specialisation programme in ‘Clinical Neuroscience’ combines in-depth training in clinical and health psychology with the acquisition of expertise in the field of cognitive neuroscience. In combination with the Advanced Studies in Psychology programme, its aim is to provide students with extensive and sophisticated knowledge, skills and competences in clinical and health psychology (in-depth theoretical introduction to psychological disorders and other forms of psychological dysfunction, including their aetiologies, diagnoses, classifications and treatments). In addition, students explore the current state of knowledge in cognitive neuroscience with teaching units on various specialist subjects. They also acquire skills in the use of neuroimaging, programming and data analysis techniques. These skills will enable them to develop the experimental and methodological expertise needed to conduct their own research projects in clinical neuroscience.
Structure
The program is composed of two modules:
Foundations in cognitive neuroscience (15 ECTS)
This module is designed to provide a solid foundation and rigorous understanding of the fundamental concepts and methodologies in cognitive neuroscience. It covers a wide range of topics from social, visual and affective neuroscience to the interaction between sleep and cognition. The module also includes detailed courses in statistical analysis and programming, as well as practical introductions to various neuroimaging techniques. These teaching units are specifically designed to provide students with the methodological knowledge and analytical skills needed to conduct neuroscience research.
The module consists of a compulsory teaching unit, ‘Statistics with R’, and 3 ECTS elective teaching units. It is strongly recommended that ‘Statistics with R’ be taken during the first year of the Master's programme. To validate this module, students must validate teaching units for a minimum of 15 ECTS. The teaching units are offered in English.
Factors and processes in clinical and health psychology (15 ECTS)
This module comprises a wide range of teaching units that address processes and factors that are important for the onset, maintenance or treatment of mental disorders, or for various aspects of mental or somatic health, as well as their modification, maintenance or promotion, at different stages of life.
The module is made up of 3 ECTS elective teaching units. To validate this module, students must validate teaching units for a minimum of 15 ECTS. Teaching units are offered in French, German or English.
