Admission requirements
Hold a bachelor’s degree of Science in Psychology or another degree with Psychology as major issued by a Swiss university. This diploma proves that the holder has validated a minimum of 120 ECTS in psychology. The Department of Psychology does not offer any bridging programs to acquire any missing ECTS credits.
Holders of a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology from a Swiss University of Applied Sciences must have achieved a minimum average grade of 5.0 to be admitted.
For a bachelor’s degree issued by a foreign university recognized by the University of Fribourg, minimum requirements concerning study plans, course content and the minimum grade of the bachelor degree (2/3 of the grade scale of the issuing country) are requested to guarantee equivalence with the corresponding Swiss degree, as provided for in the Ordinance of the Council of Higher Education Institutions of November 29, 2019, regarding the coordination of education at Swiss universities.
Holders of a diploma giving access to the master’s program issued 10 years ago or more will have to complete a prerequisite program of a maximum of 60 ECTS.
If the admission requirements are met
For all degrees, additional study may be required either
- as a prerequisite before starting master’s program (up to 60 ECTS credits - prerequisite program)
- as a supplement to be completed in parallel with master’s studies (up to 30 ECTS credits - complementary program).
