This course introduces students to the genres, sources and methods of medieval scholastic theology, with a focus on the 13th and 14th centuries. Sessions will concentrate on the guided readings of key texts by Bonaventure, Albertus Magnus, Thomas Aquinas and Meister Eckhart. We will study summae, biblical commentaries, disputed questions and sermons.
