DCM Master Programmes: Placement Reports of Graduates
In which professions do graduates of the DCM Master programmes work? Two reports on career opportunities provide answers to this question using data from students who graduated in the years 2020 to 2022.
86% of students who completed the Master Communication and Society or the previous Master Communication and Media Research at the University of Freiburg between 2020 and 2022 found a job in the first three months after graduating. These are the findings of a survey among graduates on their career opportunities. Former students often work as communication specialists, but also in journalism, marketing, or project management, and several of them have started further academic training.
The most represented business sector is information, communication and PR with 25%, followed by business services (19%), government and public administration (14%), education and training, and banking and financial services (8% each). Other graduates of the master’s programme work in the retail industry, healthcare, life sciences, culture, and sport. Employers include, among others, Tamedia, CH Media, the communications agency Furrerhugi, the Federal Administration, Berner Kantonalbank, Vaudoise insurance, and Rolex.
