Beschreibung	Biological invasions are a global phenomenon and are considered as one of the major drivers of global change. Alien species can threaten native species and ecosystems, as well as human economy and well-being. This course covers the ecological, evolutionary and socio-economic implications of biological invasions. In particular, the following topics are covered: the invasion process, transport, pathways, introduction, establishment, persistence, evolution, spread, impacts, management.
Lernziele	Students know the different stages of the invasion process, the history of invasions, mechanisms and factors affecting invasions at different stages, and environmental and socio-economic impacts. Students can further identify value judgements in management decisions about alien species.
