New techniques such as within reproductive medicine, evolving social engagements such as the MeToo-movement and innovative legal practices have advances legal gender studies and legal practice. The individuality of the legal subject has undoubtedly become perceived as more complex and diversified. Their self-determination is also a subject of controversy. It cannot be said that the legal subjects have become sexless, or without nationality or ageless. And yet, what seemed obvious is questioned, challenged. What interests or desires are driving the law today? What do we expect from al legal science on the move? Haw can the law be mobilized in feminist legal practice? When should it be queer? Or what are the potentials of historical and philosophical considerations, or of artistic practices?
The symposium is interdisciplinary. It aims to stimulate and exchange theoretical perspectives on current research in legal gender studies, but also legal practices in Switzerland and elsewhere, from philosophical considerations to the activities of a group of young women lawyers.
