Deadline and conditions

The University Council established a prize carrying CHF 5’000.-, intended to reward excellent master’s dissertations of students of the university. This prize is awarded every two years during the Dies Academicus.

The prize is awarded to a student, who during his or her studies at Fribourg University wrote a master’s dissertation in the field of applied ethics. 

Alternatively the prize can be awarded to a student who raises and treats important ethical questions for research and scientific education, as well as for the practical application of scientific knowledge in his or her specific field of expertise

At the beginning of the autumn and spring semesters of the previous year, the University Council invites the members of the faculty to propose eligible master’s dissertations to receive the prize.

To be taken into account, the master’s dissertations must have been approved within the previous two years of the prize’s presentation. They must be transmitted to the preparatory commission until July 30th of the year the prize is presented. All copyrights remain reserved.
