Workshops and programmes for female researchers
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Office offers workshops and a mentoring program as well as personnalized advice and guidance in order to counter the loss of women in academic careers.
While constituing the majority of university students, the number of women in academia decreases as they approach higher positions at the University of Fribourg. In this sense, women constitute:
- 62% of Master’s students
- 50% of PhD students
- 19% of ordinary professors in higher category
REGARD Workshop program
The REGARD program offers workshops for woman researchers and professors with in the Universities of Fribourg, Lausanne, Geneva, Neuchâtel, HES-SO and EPFL.
More than 20 workshops discuss topics such as academic career planning, research project management, communication tools and personal development.
Some workshops are also open to a mixed audience or to men only.
The workshops create spaces for discussion and exchange of experiences between participants.
The Réseau romand de mentoring pour femmes
The Réseau romand de mentoring pour femmes is designed for female doctoral candidates at the end of their thesis, post-doctoral candidates or female researchers just before they become professors. The aim of the network is to encourage them to pursue their careers and to promote their integration into the scientific community.
The Réseau romand offers individual ("one-to-one") mentoring and four group meetings during which cross-cutting skills development workshops and exchange moments are offered.
