Thomas Flatt appointed new member of SNSF National Research Council

Prof. Thomas Flatt, currently head of the Department of Biology, has been elected to the National Research Council (NRC) of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) per 1 October 2022. He will serve in the Biology and Medicine Division of the NRC, in the areas of evolution, behavior and ecology.

The NRC is the scientific body of the SNSF. It evaluates and reviews several thousand research proposals submitted to the SNSF and decides on their financial support; it also discusses science policy matters. The NRC is composed of about leading 100 scientists, most of whom work at Swiss universities.
