    Description

    This practice-oriented block course introduces students to core principles of science communication and strategic communication planning. Students learn how to translate scientific knowledge to accessible messages for selected target audiences and develop a concrete communication prototype.

    The course focuse on applied strategy work, basic media logic, and responsible visual science communication (e.g. short videos).

    Course Structure (Block Format)

    Block 01. Foundations of Science Communication & Media Logic.

    • Media logic and public discourse
    • Models of science communication (deficit, dialogue, participation)
    • Selected case examples
       

    Block 02. Audiences, Stakeholders & Strategy.

    • Stakeholder mapping
    • Communication objectives and key messages
    • Ethics, responsibility, credibility
       

    Block 03. Visual Science Communication & Prototyping.

    • Principles of visual science communication
    • Introduction to formats (video, visual, policy brief)
    • Hands-on prototyping
    Objectifs de formation
    1. Understand theoretical principles

    Analyze selected audiences and communication contexts in science communication.
     

    1. Planning the practical implementation

    Design a basic science communication strategy including objectives, messages, and stakeholders.
     

    1. Discussing, arguing, and independence

    Reflect critically on knowledge transfer and participation as part of science communication.
     

    1. Apply and implemention

    Produce a low-threshold science communication prototype.
