This book is a compilation of papers presented at the international Conference “States Falling Apart? Secessionist and Autonomy Movements in Europe” at the University of Fribourg in 2013 and constitutes a timely addition to the literature on secession, autonomy and federalism. With a wide-array of contributions by renowned scholars like Michael Burgess, Gisela Färber, John Kincaid and Ronald Watts etc. and numerous young scholars from countries confronted with autonomy and secessionist movements, the compilation is of interest to scholars, students and politicians.
